The Structures of Convoluted Air Springs

An air spring is a carefully engineered rubber/fabric bellows containing a column of compressed air. The rubber bellows itself does not generate force or support loads; this is done by the air column. AIRSUSTECH air springs utilize a carefully engineered elastic bellow with specially designed metal end caps. Our standard two-layer air springs consist of four layers:

a. An inner layer of extruded rubber.
b. A layer of fabric-reinforced rubber.
c. A second layer of fabric-reinforced rubber (with cords offset at an angle to the first layer).
d. An outer layer of extruded rubber.

Many of our air springs also offer a high-strength construction for higher pressures. This product consists of four layers of fabric-reinforced rubber, with an inner and outer layer.
